Privacy Policy

1. What this is about

This policy applies to the website turbobarn.com. The WalkyPop app has a privacy policy of its own.

We use no website analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts are served from our own server. Purchasing and activating Vomabige involves the services described below.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted on a server of STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. The server is located in Germany. The additional services below may involve processing outside the European Economic Area.

When you access the website, the hosting provider automatically collects data your browser transmits and that is technically required to deliver the page: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources and not evaluated to identify individuals.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website).

4. Cookies, local storage and consent

We use browser storage for the functions described here. Paddle loads only when you start checkout and may use cookies or similar storage for payment and fraud prevention. We do not use analytics, advertising networks or social media plugins.

On your first visit the website shows a notice about this. When you close it, your browser creates the entry tb-consent in its local storage so the notice does not reappear on every visit. The entry holds the time and the choice made, no identifier, and never leaves your browser. It lapses after twelve months; you can delete it at any time in your browser settings. “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page reopens the notice.

Starting a Vomabige purchase saves a retrieval token as vomabige-purchase in local storage. It is sent to TurboLicense when you retrieve the license. Server access expires after seven days; the browser entry remains until another purchase replaces it or you clear the website data. This storage supports the purchase you requested (Sec. 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

On the WalkyPop page, choosing DE or EN saves only that language under walkypop-language-v1 in your browser’s local storage. This keeps your choice on later visits. It is not sent to us and remains until you clear your browser’s website data.

This storage is strictly necessary to respect your decision (Sec. 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where the entry documents a consent, Art. 6(1)(c) in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR. You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future through the same dialog.

5. Vomabige purchases, licensing and email

Paid sales are currently disabled. When sales open, Paddle handles checkout as the seller of record and processes payment, billing, tax and fraud-prevention data under its own responsibility. We receive the transaction reference, product, payment status and purchaser email needed to issue and support your license. We do not receive your full card details. See Paddle’s privacy notice.

Our TurboLicense service uses Supabase, with its database in Frankfurt, Germany. It stores purchase references, license status, a hash of the license key, product-specific device hashes, activation records and email dispatch records. Activation and deactivation transmit your key and device hash. Network providers also process technical request data, including IP addresses; hashed request identifiers help prevent abuse. We do not upload your footage, projects or asset files. Starting with the next plugin update after 0.9.1, the plugin checks its license every 30 days while running. If the service cannot be reached or returns no verifiable status, activation remains valid and the plugin retries after 24 hours. An overdue check runs when the plugin is next used. Only a verified revocation or removed device activation disables that activation. Periodic checks transmit the license key and device hash.

Resend sends license emails from licensing@turbobarn.com. It receives the purchaser email, license key and message content and processes delivery information. These are service emails, not newsletter subscriptions. Our service keeps the recipient, dispatch status and message reference to handle retries and support. Payment receipts are sent separately by Paddle.

The legal basis for issuing, activating and delivering licenses is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Security and abuse prevention rely on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. License and purchase records are retained as needed to support your continuing license and resolve claims; legal retention obligations may require longer storage (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). You can request deletion using the contact above; data needed to provide your license or meet legal obligations may need to be retained.

These providers and their subprocessors may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States. A Frankfurt database does not mean all support, email and service processing stays in Germany. Details: Supabase privacy notice and Resend privacy notice.

6. Contacting us

If you write to us by email, we process your details solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request is aimed at a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We keep the correspondence until the reason for it no longer applies and delete it afterwards, unless statutory retention periods require otherwise.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. Contact the address above for this.

For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the browser's address bar starting with “https://” and showing a padlock icon.
